Cast on in grey Drops Lima - it’s a bouncy DK and the gauge and feel of the fabric is working well so far. Loving the pattern, it’s a whole wee adventure in knitting.
5th June - this is taking AGES. Am losing the will to live. Have stopped knitting the body to do both sleeves, just to make sure I don’t run of wool.
MODS: Sleeves - only decreased once for the sleeves. Next time I wouldn’t bother, the rib pulls them in to fit and not seeing the benefit of the decrease.
Pockets - not wanting the pockets to gapes so have knitted them separately, plan to line them with fabric and sew them in place after I’m finished. Maybe at a jaunty angle, who knows.
16th June - this was a bit of a labour but worth it! Love the shape, love the pockets, definitely worth the mammoth amount of fisherman’s rib.
Pockets: I ended up knitting the pockets separately in single rib, tubular cast on, left stitches live at bottom, sewed them in place. If I had my time again I would knit them in at the bottom when the single rib starts, but I wasn’t sure where I wanted to put them. As it happens they start 10st from the end of the front band. The single rib helps them to not gape too much so I didn’t bother lining them.
No other mods.
Collar: I tried a provisional cast on so that the collar grows in both directions without an obvious seam but frogged it. Decided I wanted the seam so went with the pattern.
