Notes

Gemstone wristers are worked seamlessly in the round with two different yarns (one is merino, the other is silk) in a slip stitch pattern that adds textural interest as well as color and creating a luxurious, fascinating and warm fabric.
The fabric is inspired by the complex woven fabrics of Chanel jackets/suits including multiple yarns made from different fibers and materials. This particular color combination makes me think of bright precious sparkly gems (paparadscha sapphires-- Sri Lankan sapphires the color of pink lotus flowers mixed with sunset?) and bleached beach stones.
The custom bright coral-peach-fuschia color way, dyed for me by Iris of Art Yarn in the 100% silk yarn, imparts a bright, glowy sheen; the merino wool provides softness, durability, warmth and flexibility. This color way, now named “gemstone” will be released soon and available from Art Yarns distributers.
