1/20 - Done and done! Pictures when I am up to being photographed. I also have to decide how I want to block it-- the extended bottom I did is a bit puckery.
1/19 - I’m half way through the final bind off. I decided I wanted more width on the bottom, so when I picked up from the provisional cast-on I did 6 more rounds of beaded feather & fan in an expanding pattern. I’ll post the chart I made for it to Flickr and link it as a piccie to this page. :-)
1/16 - Just the bind-off on the bottom left to do. My fiance doesn’t like it though. First he said it made me look like an old Russian woman in a babushka. Then said it was the fluffiest burkah he’s ever seen. :-( I have to decide if I like it enough to wear it even though he thinks it’s ridiculous, or if I should give it away.
1/6 - finally put some time into this over the weekend. Up to row 12. The crochet hook I bought wouldn’t fit into a lot of the beads, so I modified it with a pair of wire cutters to be a little narrower. Works well now!
And let me say that working a missed YO 5 rows back in garter stitch mohair is not my favorite. I will be more diligent in counting. I will be more diligent in counting. I will.
12/23 - cast on! off to the races!
Using Czech glass beads from Fire Mountain Gems:
- 3 strands Czech fire-polished glass, two-tone, crystal/red, 4mm faceted round.
- 1 strand Jablonex Czech fire-polished glass, blue/red AB, 4mm faceted round.
I dumped them all into a little container and shook so that I can randomly intersperse the blue/red’s.
