Been wanting to do a Boo Knits sans beads to see just how fast I can get through it. I know I keep saying I hate purling, but after about 13 rows doing the garter stitch version of the pattern, I ripped out…just doesn’t look as “professional”?
18 or so rows in I started having doubts about not using beads… Must stick to my guns!
10/24/2014 - Finally finished and, wow, I was pleasantly surprised at how much bigger it got after blocking. For some reason I was certain that this wasn’t going to open up that much (not sure why - other Boo Knits lacework has grown just fine!).
So the yarn quality is great, and the yarn color (while not a personal fave for myself) is really nice, and the pattern is great (as are all the Boo Knits I’ve done so far)….but the yarn color is maybe a touch busy for the lacework. Bummer.
This one was knit with no one in particular in mind…but when I worked on it a little while in NY this summer, friend Kelli commented on how she loved the colors and how purple is her favorite. So I think this’ll be going out in the mail to her soon… I need to get some better pics of the finished “shawlette” first, and then hopefully she’ll pose with it and send another pic of it out in the wild.
12/18/2014 - I really didn’t get any great pics of this shawl before sending it to Kelli. It was a total surprise for her, and she received it after a really bad day at work, so apparently it re-energized her and lifted her spirits, and Andy was making comments about it being her superhero cape…hence the action poses.
