Doing this following my notes from the hat i know years ago, which we both wear quite a bit during winter. Different colors, and going it turns out good!

US6 with provisional cast-on of 108x2 stitches.

As I’m knitting around the first half of the brim I’m finding i somehow had two places with only k1 where it should’ve been k2 in the k2p2 brim. No idea how, but now i worry I’m maybe working with more stitches than planned since i filled in the missing stitches. If there ARE too many i can deal with that after the brim -could give the brim a bit more oomph.

Uh oh.

I was happily working on this hat mindlessly around all the Christmas prep and events, the almost-blizzard, etc.

And for some reason, while never reviewing the original pattern, i was thinking this hat had all the reductions for the crown at the very very top, after the final color change.

Nope.

I started thinking something was wrong on our drive home from Brett’s parents’ today, thinking “whoa, this is gonna be big/tall.”

Then after getting home i looked at the pattern and was reminded there are reductions in the solid-color rows.

No way was i gonna rip it all back. Time to get creative! What if i pussy-hat this hat!?

I know, technically it’s not just pussy hat, and that other hats have been knit with this flat/rectangular-bag style…. But I’ve never written any of them. It’s all i could think of.
