Second ball joined before end of headband.

I don’t have the pattern for the Anemone Hats, but I followed the instructions in the video to make the (addictive!) Knit as you go tendrils:

I stopped the even rows a tad early - at 4.25” instead of 4.5”.

WHEN will I learn to count at least twice??
I needed 84 picked up stitches. I counted 84, and set about knitting. I guess it’s possible I lost a couple when making the tendrils. At any rate, I’m missing two stitches on the first decrease round. So, no decrease in the last section - twice. Were there no tendrils, it would be visible; beneath them, invisible.

I’m not working the second plain rounds in the early decrease rounds. That’s too complicated with the tendrils, and I want this hat a tad smaller than most of the others.

I kept helixing until down to 14 stitches, then finished with the Mexicana.
