Notes

I really had no intention of grabbing more yarn at the Frontenac Library knitting meeting today. Then a young man rolled in on his electric wheelchair and handed over a bag full of his mother’s leftover yarns. My hand immediately grabbed these two. I do believe that orange and rust are my favourite colours.
The rust is a tad thinner than what usually passes as worsted weight; it only has three actual plies.
For the headband, I’m alternating two rows each yarn. If the rust lasts into the top of the hat, I’ll continue, helix-wise, alternating every round.

I began it on the two orange plastic Perfecto brand double-pointed (eight and ten-twelfths inches needles I use when grafting the round dishcloths. No good reason to change needles, until the earflaps.

Headband done!
Only three yards of the solid rust left. I’ll try to do one round with it.

21” of solid rust leftover after picking up the 84 stitches for the crown.

15 rounds, including the one with the last of the solid rust, brings me to the 5”. Now, to see how much of the decrease section the remaining bit of multi-oranges yarn will yield.
