Inspired by this summer’s big project, the knitted slip, I decided to take the figure-skimming rib into the autumn with a ‘ladies who lunch’-style colouring and shape and some small details that set this jumper apart.
I had seen a jumper in the same camel hue in the shop window of a little boutique in my corner of Alésia in Paris, but with the cream coloured trim, and there you have inspiration no. 2.
The crochet seams along the shoulders, sides of the body and underarm are a homage to a Sézane cardigan I adored on a niece but was too late to snap up for myself.
And finally, the cuff pattern and little trim around the 3/4 length of the sleeves is owed to boredom with the rib and the wish to subtly break it up a little.
Voilá!
