this is my second one of these in 2 days! this time I knit the whelt on ordinary needles in 2 halves, then joined them together and did the body on DPNS - finishing the top on 2 needles again, and making both shoulders button up.

After doing the pattern both ways, I think I prefer the original, I just hate sewing on buttons!
