My partner and I were randomly shipped two sets of an acrylic color pack that included a magazine of patterns. We have no idea where these came from! The kits sat in the car for at least a year because my partner and I don’t use acrylic anymore. But I felt that the yarn shouldn’t be trashed and saw a few cute toy patterns in the magazine. I decided to make some gifts for my sister’s kids. This will be my first foray into amigurumi or toy knitting. Hopefully the family dog will leave the dolls alone!
I actually really enjoyed knitting with the fuzzy yarn. The acrylic wasn’t as scratchy as I expected, but the color definitely wore off as I knit and stained my bamboo needles, something I wasn’t expecting from acrylic but would for hand-dyed yarns.
The mouse (which was supposed to look like a bear…oh well!) attached for the blanket is for Ashley and the Doll is for Danielle.
