Cast on 85 stitches with size 7 needles in Worsted hoping to get a hat that fits a 21” head. I think I’m in the ball park - so far the hat fits nicely on model head which is 20.5”.

One single row / round of the contrasting color takes up about 5.5 feet of yarn -- I wasn’t sure if I had enough to finish all the contrasting bands, so it’s helpful to know this for future reference.
I hate the look of the section where I changed colors for the bands but hopefully it can be disguised by the iCord button tab.
Found a lovely old vintage button in my stash.
These photos show the hat as it is blocking after a light wash --- Blocking really did help it to look better.
There are two spots on the contrasting color band where I knitted a stitch instead of purling -- I plan to oversew the stitches to eliminate the little v of color that is showing through in the wrong place.
