As soon as I saw this multicolored floral in pinks, I knew I wanted to make a baby blanket from it. Sick with the flu while I’m making this, is its rather slow going as I tire very quickly.

Motifs are made exactly to Ellens pattern. The border is completely different as I wanted something very girly.

A few people have emailed me about the border. First I single crocheted all around the border - bascially 3 rows of SC. In the very corner of each row, I SC three times in the very corner stitch to give it a defined turn. Attach to the top of the first SC. Chain one and Single crochet in the same stitch, chain 10, attach with one SC in the next SC (basically you’ve made a loop). Careful not to twist your work, skip 2 SC’s, SC in the next SC, chain 10, SC in the next SC. (this is a very forgiving order of stitches and if you need to fudge and perhaps skip 3 you can)…and so on around to the end, bind off. With the Pink Jacquard color, 1 DC in each of the first 4 stitches of the chain 10 loop, then 2 double crochet in the next 2 SC’s of the chain 10, the one DC in each of the next 4 SC’s of the chain 10 ( so you should have 12 double crochets on each loop) - repeat all the way around and bind off.
