I started this yesterday on Thanksgiving Day because I was a little bored with the Buffalo Check blanket’s repetitiveness. I finished the Week 1 & 2 rounds yesterday and Week 3 today.

I appreciate the work that went into giving us a very thoroughly written CAL with written instructions, charts, and videos. I don’t know why I fall for patterns written with Super Saver though. I should just write off Super Saver and Caron One Pound and never make anything with them again. But I love ombré , so I got taken in by a recent sale so now have a lot to use up. And Mikey’s not my favorite designer (sorry Mikey fans). I’ve been spoiled by Helen Shrimpton, Hooked on Sunshine, Dedri Uys… This design seems crude in comparison.

I finished this up on the evening of the last day of the year! I did enjoy the outer rounds more than the inner square. This blanket is BIG! Far too big to pack in my luggage to take to Texas to gift to my nephew. So, I started a different throw for him.

What to do with this one? Who knows. It’s also too big to donate to the hospital. It will go in the giftable pile and maybe something will come up.

I used up almost every scrap of yarn, with just five tiny yarn balls to add to my Aran scrap drawer.
