I had bought this yarn to make the Autumn Stars Throw (a Lion Brand Kit), but I’ve had the Terrazzo in my queue for years. It was the colors that attracted me to the kit, and the fact that I wanted to try two-color mosaic in the round, but the Terrazzo pattern appeals to me even more.
I’ll make up one of the squares as a swatch to see how big my blanket could be with the six cakes of Ferris Wheel.

I finished my first square and it is just about 8”. The Ferris Wheel is quite a bit thinner than the Pound of Love, but I think it will work out. Tinna’s blanket is 6x9 squares. That would be nice, or I’ll just do 5x7.
After making two squares, my original Ferris Wheel cake was 88g and now it’s 71g so 17g to make 2, which means 9 or 10 per cake. So, I can make roughly 54 with my 6 cakes. So, I’ll have plenty of the Ferris Wheel. The Pound of Love was 472g and is now 431g, so 41g to make 2. So, roughly 46 squares with my two skeins. It looks like I’m doing 5x7 since I’ll need some for the border as well. The border is 10 rounds, so roughly 2.5” per side.
5x8” = 40” + 5” = 45”
7x8” = 56” + 5” = 61”
Perfect throw size!

Moving this to hibernating since I haven’t touched it in a while.

I have finally finished a bunch of smallish projects made from my Catona Colour Pack. So, time to move on to the next unfinished project that I carried into 2024. After three months of the year, I’ve been meeting my goal of working monogamously, and finishing the projects I had started before starting anything new. Go me!
But, silly me, I didn’t record what hook size I used for these two test squares. Hopefully I will guess correctly.

Thursday evening now and I’ve basically done one square per day for a total of 7. I’m very pleased with my progress!

Saturday morning and I’ve just finished my second cake of the Ferris Wheel yarn and my 18th square. This means I am half-way done with the squares.

It’s Saturday again and I’m up to 32 of the 35 squares done. I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish the squares and do the join tomorrow, then finish the border during the week.
I am very dissapointed with the Pound of Love yarn — they should call it Pound of PITA. This is my first time buying it and it is very frustrating to use as a center pull. The yarn tangles crazy bad, but the skein is rather big to be pulling from the outside. I thought maybe the first skein was bad luck but the second one was just as bad. I won’t be buying any more of this yarn.

Monday evening and the squares are all joined and the ends weaved in. I’ll start the border tomorrow.
I’m loving the way this is looking!

The border I’d done and was fun. It’s nice not having to do a double border on a mosaic blanket.
