So … love this but not that it is knitted flat, which means i will cast on and knit the lower edge flat on one piece, and then as i work that decide what i will do with the armsye and sleeves - flat as written or something knit with no seams.
Got gauge - but on 3.25mm needle, so using that,
But frogged once because didn’t understand the lace spacing at the sides, a second time because I mucked lace, and a third time because the stitches remaining either side of the lace on the left and right were different ….
Ok so a few months later and it is done, washed and blocked in the drier. Slight issue with one of the ends coming loose and needing to be secured but overall fantastic. I love this and only wish we had more summer her to wear it in. I worked BW top down sleeves but picked up one for each slipped stitch edge, and then short rowed down to the point where the arm and body join, at that point I worked four more short rows and added increases to each side of the sleeve to replicate the shape of a sewn in sleeve. Button holes were tulip ones aka techknitter, but I didn’t need to use a smaller dpn. I reduced the sleeve stitches by decreasing away the underarm stitches in a gusset, decreases every second round till they were all gone then decrease a pair of stitches every sixth round.
Love the lace in linen!
Pretty much everything but ‘flat’ was based on the pattern.
Note to users of linen - weave in ends securely!
