SOCKS ARE THE SHAWLS OF THE FEET. - Stephen West

Foot circumference: 22 cm
Gauge swatch was also slightly on the large side.
Sock circumference: 19 cm (smallest size)

CLUE 1 NOTES
Okay, that’s my usual CO number of stitches; smallest size should be fine.
UPDATE: smallest size is “a bit snug”; we’ll see how it turns out.
Loving this pattern - and now that I’ve understood the cabling, I’m doing it without a cable needle (just by rearranging the stitches on my DPN)! It’s like magic!

CLUE 2 NOTES
Because I cast on a smaller size (based on my usual “vanilla sock recipe”) I’m skipping the Woven Slips section entirely (this time). It’s okay - I do like a shorter sock. Haven’t knit a heel like this in literally decades - and/but I like it!!!

CLUE 3 NOTES
Really enjoying the gusset (and the fact that it doesn’t leave little holes at the sides), but maybe I’d prefer it without the slip-stitch cable. Stopped decreasing when I reached 60 sts, because that’s my usual stitch count for the foot (even with needles one size up from these).

CLUE 4 NOTES
Loving the patterned toe just as much as the heel - shall definitely incorproate these into a future scrappy sock project. :)

All in all, I really enjoyed this sockalong. I no longer feel taunted by cables, and now I have even more sock techniques to choose from. This was a really nice mini-adventure, and even though it took me ages to finish my second sock (life does get in the way sometimes), I’m definitely in the mood for more knitting again, and I might just join another mystery KAL for a smaller-size project. :)
