Started this project, oh, last fall. Put it down many times as new projects grabbed my attention. This is the third time I am making these gloves, so the newness of the pattern has worn off.
I am almost done with the second glove!

Here are the modifications I have made to make these the perfect gloves for me:

1. decreased to a size 0 needle (I am a loose knitter)
2. Increased ribbing to ~1.75 inches
3. Repeated 1-8 a total of 4 times (total of 32 rows)
4. Moved thumb gusset over by 5 stitches. As written the gusset is only 2 stitches off the lace panel. The motif is then pulled toward the thumb when it is worn and looks goofy. Use a life line the row before the gusset starts. That way if you don’t like where you placed your gusset you can move it more easily.
5. added an additional 8 rows to the thumb gusset, otherwise the thumb hole would have been too small. This equates to 4 increase rows (8 stitch increase).
6. Transfered 24 stitches on to waste yarn for the thumb and picked up 4 for a total of 28 thumb stitches.
7. added 20 rows to the knuckles section

So my gloves are longer, wider and lace panel stays center of the back of the hand.
