I was inspired by Matildaz’s shrug.

I followed her directions for the sleeve edging in the round:
r1: p
r2: k
r3: p
r4-5: k
r6: (yo, k2tog) all around
r7-8: k
r9: p
r10: k
r11: p
r12-15: k
r16: (yo k2tog) all around
r17-20: k

Then leave a long tail and tack down the live stitches one at a time to the corresponding purl bumps on the inside of the hem.

For the shrug’s outer edging, I had to reverse engineer from her photo and came up with the following, knit back and forth (adding 4 more rows to the outer edge):

Dec by p2tog at all the inc places on the last round so that the stitch count perfectly matches up with the purl bumps on the wrong side row where you tack down the live stitches.
