Notes

This fitted cardigan fits great! I really like the curved front bottom edge, the fitted body, the well placed cables, the i-cord finishing, and of course, the zipper close. The i-cord edge works really well with the zipper.

I’m short so I used the size small, but knit the body an inch shorter and knit the XS-sized armholes to get a size PS. I knit the XS sleeves as well. I had to re-knit the shoulder caps with fewer rows, changing the decreases to every 3 rows 7 times and every other row once.

I used Debraknits modifications to knit the i-cord edging onto the cardigan front edges. Thanks Debraknits!

This was my first time using i-cord edging and i-cord bind-off and I learned that it’s important not bind off loosely instead of using the usual i-cord tug.

I hand-sewed the zipper using the Chicknits tutorial. Had used it once before on a Ribby Cardi and dare I say that it’s almost easy? I could only find a zipper in a matching color that was way too long. So I improvised zipper stops by taking two teeth for each side from the leftover zipper and snapping them into the top and then melting them with a soldering iron. It works, but is a little funky. Next time I will try to find zipper stops that I can crimp into place. I will be knitting this pattern again. :-)
