I’m making this in blue because that’s what I’ve got stashed, but I wish had some green …

I made a 1-2-1 swatch that pins out to 7” wide by about 6 inches long. So I think I’ll do a 3-4-3 scarf with 6 repeats of pattern for each section.

4/11 - finished the first half and realized I didn’t do the purl row to start off with. So I did it after I picked up the provisional cast-on. Then I started knitting the second half, but it’s clear that the stitches aren’t lining up correctly. I’m going to rip back and hopefully figure out how to get them to line up.

4/29 - I ripped back and tried again. The center is off by one stitch (the sides are right), so I have ripped back one more time. Sigh.

7/8 - I’ve now got everything centered and am knitting this again. I recommend putting markers in the center stitches to make sure things are lined up.

7/14 - Finished knitting. Used a suspended bind-off with a size 9 needle. Now all that remains is the blocking. I have a cat visiting, so now may not be the best time to block. We’ll see …

Update: As the photo shows, the inevitable happened.

7/15 - Completely done. It blocked out beautifully, and is soft and drapey. The color bled a bit when soaking which helped to color the white spots a little.

I plan to make this pattern again using a lace weight yarn.
