12/17/09: Cast on 94 stitches because I didn’t get gauge. Used a provisional cast-on, knit 12 rows before the purl row, then 12 rows after. Un-zipped the provisional cast-on, then joined the hem by knitting together the cast-on row with the live stitches.

12/24/09: My sister picked out this busy colorway (ST-2) of Socks That Rock Heavy Weight for her wurm. It pooled BIG TIME on the hat band. It’s even more dramatic IRL. I’ll see if she wants me to proceed tomorrow. If not, she’ll be getting a scarf.

12/25/09: My sister loves the pooling, so all is well. She tried on what exists of the hat so far and is even more thrilled. I will proceed full speed ahead.

12/27/09: Did only 7 purl repeats (my sister wanted less slouch ). The pooling only occurs on the headband, so it seems like a design feature. Sometimes, you get lucky ;-)
