7/9/2015: I searching though my drafts in the book. When I saw even more unique shadow weave drafts. Wow hard to choose. Page 71 Had 6 different drafts with one tie up and 1 heddle set up. Now I can play and see so many different kinds of drafts without changing the tie ups. They are totally unique than any other shadow weave I have saw.
Here is the math so far:
Total 3 YDS Warp
REED SIZE: 20
WARP WIDTH IN REED: 25
EPI: 430
TOTAL LENGTH IN WARP: 1,290
TOTAL LENGTH IN WEPT: 1,097
TOTAL YARDAGE USED: 2,580
I am using left over cones and had to do some math there. I always go on the conservative side. So all I had was 2756 to work with. I am working with 5/2 Mercerized cotton. I have used this yarn on previous products and love it.
7/19: Heddle Time. Yck
7/22: 1/2 the heddles done. Had to do some switching of greens in browns to go in the proper order.
7/23: Switching greens and browns. Taking more time than I anticipated. I am trying to be a perfections. I know if this part is done wrong I will not get the shadow weave affect I worked so hard to get.
7/24: Do not do this as a first Shadow Weave project. This is my 4th shadow weave. I would suggest A Weaver’s Book of 8 Shaft Patterns Edited by Carol Strickler on page 70 for your first shadow weave. You do not have 2 dark colors in a row in this draft. Also refer to my Sea Time and napkins I made much easier.

Due to lack of yarn G=Green my dark color and B=Brown my light colors. I changed all to reflect the colors I am physically using.
The one I am doing now you do so I found it complicated. 6/8 of heddles done. I have double checked what I do but I will triple check before I sley the reed. Will let you know about that.
7/25: heddles complete. Now time to check them. I am a bit scared. I hope all works will. Will let you know if not.
7/30: I got brave and checked the heddles for the third time. All perfect. YEA. I now have the concept of this draft. Yes, it is complicated but proud I did achieve this thus far. Now time to sley the reed.
8/1: The reed is sleyed. YEA
8/2: What can I say I am stunned. My hardwork paid off. Being a perfectionist was way worth seeing the end result of the weave. Draft 277, 276, 281 are done. 3 more to try.
8/7: 279 done.
8/22: 278 done. This one I like the least
823: 280 done
8/30: Weaving completed. Started twisted fringe. My least favorite part.
8/31: I do not like how my fringe is turning out plus I do not like using the twister. So I started an inkle band that is very simple with these two colors instead. The inkle band was the best choice. I rather make a band than use that blasted twister.
