Nancy is on a road trip. I just purchased this beautiful pattern of WA state. I also have the yarn in my stash.
LOTS of duplicate stitch. I use bulb markers to track the stitches. This slows down the process of knitting this beanie. This method does not work with me. I got the stitch count wrong had to pull out markers. GRR
I said carry 3 yarns instead. So much easier. Wished I did this since the beginning. I have done so much stranded knitting and fairisle and are good at these methods. I saw lots of criticism on holding 3 yarns. Really do not agree.
Held three yarns going well then not so well had to frogg bag 3 rows. I am doing this one and on a road trip and will focus onn this only. I hit the row knitting 4 colors in a round. I decided to do duplicate stitch for the white for 2 rows. Ran out of markers I have to do 4 colors in a row.
I have found when carrying 4 yarns you have to trap a yarn each stitch you do. I look in the back of the beanie and figure out what yarn to trap. Since I am doing one stitch at a time following the chart, and I need to trap the next stitch, it slows me more down and I have less errors.
I did not do this method but great idea:
