I was initially undecided, but now that I’ve done the smocking I kinda love this hat :)

Did not have the smallest needle, and swatched tighter, so went up a size on smallest and medium needles. I also did not have as much yardage as pattern called for but wanted to use stash so made a few mods:

-2nd inc. row, instead of pattern written, did ~k5, m1.~ Therefore, 132 sts instead of 140.
-Originally worked for 4” even for rise, but tried on and was bigger than I wanted so ripped back to 3”.
-Skipped first crown dec. row and started with 2nd but omitted last k2tog to end with correct # of sts. Continued as written.

Very quick project, instant gratification!
