Notes

This project went to the Southeast Greyhound Adoption group to sell in the silent auction at Greyfest, October 2006.

Easy to crochet (lovely, beautifully written pattern), hard to assemble. Do NOT overstuff; at one point the back legs on mine were at 90-degree angles. Oh, and watch your tension: if you crochet too tight, you can have legs that corkscrew around so that the feet are backwards from the shoulders/thighs! (The last photo shows a corkscrewed leg that had to be redone; you can see the stitches spiraling around the leg between elbow and wrist.)

(See my journal entries for more information.)

In the original auction (2006), the stuffed greyhound sold for $100. Six years later (2012), she was donated to another auction and sold for $400.

ETA: Sam was quite white-faced in these photos from 2006, when he was six years old. He went to the bridge on 8 August 2013; he was 13 years old, and had lived with me for nearly 11 years. He’s sorely missed.
