Made mine a little shorter than the pattern.
Used size 6 needles and Bernat Boa instead of the ‘fun fur’ yarn and joined in the round after about the second row. Knit 4 or 5 rows with the Boa.
Switched to sz 1 dpns when changing to red yard, but only increased to 112 sts instead of 125 sts that the pattern called for.
Knit about 1 -1.5” in red then started working the decrease rounds as the pattern indicated, decreasing 8 sts evenly on each decrease row and working 3 regular rows in between decrease rows.
I switched to size 0 dpns when I reached the waist and decreased to 34 stitches instead of 37 sts since I was knitting in the round. I also omitted the garter stitches on the front.
Switched to the white yarn, K 8 sts, co 8 sts, K 18 sts, co 8 sts, K 8sts. Then worked 9 rounds in K1, P1 ribbing. Cast off in pattern.
The picture is before blocking. Just need to block and make a Santa hat to go with it. :)
