My Niece rang me and asked if I could knit Mary Joseph and Baby Jesus in a manger by Wednesday/Thursday. I said I’d see what I could do but couldn’t promise have all 3 so asked which she need more so I did Baby in manger and Mary first then Joseph
some I followed the pattern Some things I had to make the pattern up as I knitted
Am happy with how they turned out with only 3 days to do them and my Niece loves them

Body: In Blue Cast on 8 knit 2 rows. Rows 3-25 are in Stocking/Stockinette Stitch (SS)
Head: change to Pink for the head Rows 26-39 Starting with Purl SS thread through to Cast off pull tight tie and sew
Your Body and Head is one piece sew and stuff leaving bottom open so it stands up or sew it if you don’t want it to stand up
2x Arms: in Pink Cast on 8 Rows 1-4 SS. Change to Blue (or what colour you used for body) Rows 4-12 SS thread through to Cast off. sew up and stuff. I did the cuffs before sewing on the body
2x Sleeve Cuff’s: Cast on 15 Knit 1 Row then Cast off sew on arms were the Pink mets the blue (or your colour) Then sew on Body
Base: same colour as Body Cast on 6. Rows 1-2 Knit Row 3 KFBx2,K2,KFBx2. Row 4-7 Knit. Row 8 K2TOGx2,K2,K2TOGx2. Row 9-10 Knit and Cast off

I did have cardboard into the bottom just to make sure it stood up
Am sure it could be knitted better but didn’t have long plus it work
Head-Dress: As pattern in Jean greenhowe’s Christmas Special just with afew changes that are the shaping 2 Row do till have 36sts then SS 17 Rows then knit 3 Rows and Cast off. Sew to Marys head,Shoulders and bottom

Coat: in Beige Cast on 15 Rows 1 &2 KFBx3, K to last 3sts, KFBx3. You’ll have 27sts (after the 2 Rows.1st Row 21sts.2nd Row 27sts) . Rows 3-35 SS Starting with Knit. Also K2 start & end of Purl Rows (for the edging). Rows 36 & 37 K. Cast off Kwise.
Beard: Light Brown (walnut) Cast on 6. row 1 K through back loop (TBL). Rows 2,4,6 KFB,K,KFB ( KFB are first and last stitch) Rows 3,5,7 K. loosely Cast off
Cloth: Cast on 35. Rows 1-7 K. Rows 8,9,11,13,26-28.K2TOGx2,K,K2TOGx2 (K2TOG are first and last stitch) Rows 10,12,14-25 & 29 Knit. Row 30 K2TOG,K3,K2TOG.Row 31 K2tog,K1,K2TOG. Cast off 3 sts
sew cloth on head for the tie I had my knitting needles though his head and with Grey under the needles wrapped around pulled tight and knotted with grey cotton sew tie on at the front back and both sides. The same Grey is tied around his waist
