Notes

Well, folks, this is it! It is the perfect cardigan. Yes, perfect, and I could not love it more. I may cast on another one right away.

About the name: I was too impatient to keep working on the cats/donuts cardigan, and I reeeeally needed to finish something for that little dopamine lift. The world is on fire and this is how I cope. So I cast on a bulky weight cardigan that I hoped to finish in a week or so. Took me a little longer because I am also doing an MKAL, but it was still gratifyingly quick.

The Italian bind off took absolutely forever and it was worth every bit of it. It’s such a lovely edge! The designer’s instructional video is one of the better ones I’ve seen for the technique. I only wish I could remember how to do it without having to watch a video every damn time.

Worked nine repeats of the lace pattern on the body. We’ll see after blocking (if I block it) whether that was too many. I only intended to work eight, but I got caught up in knitting that delightful chunky feather and fan and I lost count.

I worked the decrease round at the sleeve cuff to decrease out half the stitches plus 1 more to get an even number for ribbing, then proceeded with the cuff. (Next time, decrease one stitch less than half.) The cuffs as written are stylishly wide, but while I love the look, I don’t like wearing them that way.

Pre-blocking, the sleeves could be slightly longer.

I would like one more repeat of the lace pattern on the sleeves.

Okay, I blocked it and it is now even more beautiful!

Well, the Only Yarn in the Building MKAL is getting in the way of a quick finish on this project, but it’s still an enjoyable knit. Loving the squishy bulky lace.
