Notes

This is an amazing pattern! One of my friends referred to it as the “Sistine Chapel of sweaters” lol. The allover motif on the body is strikingly beautiful and also creates a lovely fabric, since there are few long carries.

I first knitted the yoke as written (see photo), but I was unhappy with the Easter egg colors I chose and with the proportions of the motifs in this size (it’s fine for the smaller sizes but the larger sizes, with their larger surface area, need a bit more oomph). So I ripped back to the bobbles and knit it again, using bolder motifs and more intense colors. I’m very pleased with the result.

For the allover motif, I held the darker yarn in the left hand as the dominant color. I like how it made the lighter yarn recede a bit.

Mods:

Worked in the round, sleeves as well as body.

Sleeve increases aren’t charted, so I added a central stitch and I am working the motif across the increases as an extension of the pattern on either side. Had to rip and re-knit the entire first sleeve to arrive at this plan, but it’s working well now.
