I made my own pattern for the wrist warmers because I couldn’t find one plain enough to put appliques on in a kid size. I did it by measuring her arm as I went. She is 3 and it is a little big for her (so that she can wear them for a few years), but they still fit her well enough for her to wear them. This is the pattern I made as I went.
CH 22 (or whatever length you prefer, it can be easily modified)
Row 1. Skip 2 stitches, hdc 20
Rows 2-15. Ch 2, hdc 20
(To make the wrist warmers wider, add more rows here. I was constantly wrapping my work around my daughter’s arm to get a good size.)
Row 16. Fold work in half long ways, and slip stitch the first stitch on both sides together. Ch 1 and then Sc in same stitch. You will now be using Sc to stitch both sides together. Sc 12, then slip stitch 5 on ONE SIDE only. Skip the 5 stitches on the other side. Then resume the sc on the remaining 3 stitches.
Flip inside out.
I used a pattern for the puppy paws prints that is linked above.
