Reversible jacket / coat / hoodie / coatigan

Both yarns are knitted at the same time to create a quilt-like look with a built in quilted backing! This is through the magic of double knitting + modular knitting.

The idea behind this jacket is to use scraps and lots of colors from past projects to make something new and unique, just like how fabric quilts use small bits! I encourage you to dig through your stash — no need to buy more yarns unless you really want to! I worked from 14 colors on 50g (half) skeins for more variety, but used only about half the amount I gathered. So I’m using the leftovers to make the cropped version next

I wanted to create a somewhat harmonious but bright color palette for the colors I dyed. I love using low-contrast bright colors next to each other, which is a fun way to use color theory to shift the perception of a color based on other hues around it! So a few colors can look like a lot more based on how the colors are paired together!
Aside from my 3 pop colors — Hansa (yellow), Vivi (lavender), and Larimar (light aqua) — all the colorways I made are based on mixtures using the same few dyes, mixed in different concentrations to create subtle color differences.
