My double knitting gauge isn’t the same from both sides (I purl more loosely than I knit) so I actually had to add 3 extra rows on the knit side to balance the front & back.
To add these 3 extra rows, which I did every few rows, I did:
(sl1wyif, YB, k1, YF), rep to end. Then on the next row, resumed the all-in-one-go double knitting (p1 with B, YB, k1 with A, YF), rep to end.

I used the crown instructions from the Daniel’s Hat pattern because I like the grouped decreases better.
