Testknitting an amazing architectural sweater by Boknits. I’m using yarn dyed by me (for Kindred Red) in Frazada. I got gauge using a size 5 needle with sport weight yarn - sock yarn and using smaller needles had me off by 12 stitches in a 4” square, which would make my size considerably off in an entire sweater!

Restarting with sport weight yarn on even larger needles today - couldn’t make the suggested needle size and yarn work.

When getting to the shoulder cap, I made sure to always have one stockinette stitch on either side to account for picking up stitches for seaming and adding the neckline.
So from the neckline over:
k1, (p2,k2) to m, increase on increase rows, slm, k2, (p2, k2) to 1 st before EOR, k.
The neckline will have the purled part of the ribbing adjacent to the i-cord neckline, making it all look even more ribbed. So hopefully this part lines up like that for you!
For the sleeves, after the horizontal ribbing pushes away the vertical side ribs, I also made a 1 stitch stockinette border for easier-to-pick-up seams. (seaming from garter edges can be a real pain, let me tell you!)

Knitting sleeves in the round, using the half mutton directions. Unlike the body where I used a size 5, I am using a size 4 to make the ribbing a little cleaner.
On the sleeves, I added one extra stitch around the center single rib at the end of the increase portion, meaning four extra rows before decreasing, to make that center diamond more defined (with three purl stitches on either side instead of two). The ribbing’s increases and then immediate decreases looked a little muddy as written, but adding that extra stitch was just the ticket.
