Carolyn and I have been friends since we were toddlers. She is also a crocheter but so busy with her full-time job and watching her granddaughter that she doesn’t have much time to make herself pretty things. I wore my bright peacock when I met her for lunch last month and she exclaimed over it again and again so I knew I had to make one just for her. I hope she loves this one just as much, but if she doesn’t, I will happily trade with her.
Am winding the yarn 9/10/2013 and looking for beads to order.
BEADS ORDERED! I’m officially ready to start this gift!
Starting weight of yarn: 52gm
Wish I could get my iPad to photo this properly, but it won’t. It is an amazing deep purple, not the blue that is shown in first WIP photo here. Through row nine. Love the feel of this yarn, immensely. Very soft!
9/11/2013 ended the day at start of row 15 in first repeat of section 1.
9/12/2013 ended the day start of row 12 in third repeat of section 1. At least most recent WIP photo shows closer approximation to purple. :) Beads arrive TOMORROW!
9/13 finished the first clue. I could continue but I am just not feeling it tonight, lol. Beads arrived today and I love them. They will really provide a wonderful sparkle and nice weight to the edge.
9/14 wound second skein of yarn this morning so it will be ready when I need it.
9/17 finished section b (clue 2) this afternoon. Excited to get to the next section and start adding beads now!
9/22 got all of the beads onto night and tomorrow I will add the finishing neckline, soak and block. Thrilled to have another finished prior to October!
9/23 It’s all over but the blocking… Might wait for a few days on that. I have lots more stitching to do before October.
9/30 Finally blocking. No bleed out in the water. Beautiful stretch on the mats. LOVE this yarn.
Final measurements:
Spine: 26 inches
Neckline: 54 inches
