Enjoyed making this (except for the puff stitch rows - not my favorite ;op) very much. I really love this yarn. While it is a fingering yarn, I’d have to call it LIGHT fingering. Even though the shawl is very big, I can wear it kerchief style wrapped around my neck right up close because of how airy and light it is. Delightful.
As with all of the projects I made in October (why do I keep saying NOVEMBER??? LOL), because I made several things at once, they look on paper like each of them took me a long time, but they were very fast projects on their own.
Setting up project page for October Along.
Starting with 157g of yarn. First third to be used in shawl ground (52g).
9/27 did a small swatch tonight to check hook size with yarn and it feels good. I’m ready to start next week. Photo is the starting swatch.
10/08 this is back on the hook as the next active project for October.
10/09 shawl ground complete.
10/16 Got through all stitching with the exception of two rounds of edging. I’m running very short of yarn. I think it looks good as is and I think I will leave it this way. I may dry block tomorrow just to give further consideration. I’m pretty sick right now so I may not be thinking clearly, lol. If I do decide to add more, I have to rip out current top row and redo because it needs to have chain stitching for alternate finish.
10/23 blocked - on pins. Will grab finished photos later today. Drying quickly. (Blocked photos under artificial light…)
Blocking size:
30 on spine
52 across neckline
5gm of yarn left
