Casting on 227 (291) sts on US8 (US9) circ. Garter st 3 ridges (6 rows) in BLACK.
dbl dec: sl next 2 sts as if to knit, k1, pass 2 sl sts over.
dbl inc: (k1, yo, k1) into next st.
Cast on a multiple of 12 (14) sts, plus 11 sts (includes 5 extra st on each side for a selvedge stitch).
Row 1 (RS): K5, k2tog, * k4(5), dbl inc, k4(5), dbl dec; rep from * to last 8 sts, ssk, k5.
Row 2: K5, purl to last 5 sts, k5.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 to create the pattern.
ONE ROW OF COLOR PER DAY. Otherwise it’ll be 12 feet long. As it is, it’ll be about 52” x 70”.

Jan 1 - 22 = 4.25”. Ripped and restarted 4 times before I got to a color scheme I liked, but it only took me 2 nights of knitting to get to Jan 22 plus 6 rows of garter border.

I have 2 of these in progress. The Caron SS (photo #1) is up to date (photo #2), and the RHSS is 2 weeks behind. I’m starting to think that the colors remind me of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

The Sage and Limelight on the Caron SS afghan are very close together. Oh well. The Spring/Paddy greens on the RHSS are VERY different, and stand out against each other well.
You can really tell we have wild temp swings here in Missouri - I even have a Persimmons/Gold stripe for an 82F day in March!
