My bag is going to be slightly smaller because my gauge is off, but I’m ok with that. It is just a purse, so it will be alright. I also didn’t have long enough dowels. So mistakes are easily hidden in this pattern.
I completed the b at part tonight. I’ll finish the sides and lining tomorrow. My bag is only 14.5” wide, because of the yarn I picked did not make the gauge requirement.
I knitted the sides but they were too big for the bag, so I frogged the sides and crocheted some directly onto the bag (much like my pomp-a-doodle purse). I’m going to crochet the handles too and line them with nylon strips. So I used a K (10.5) hk for the side panels of the bag. I also used an I (8.5) hk for my handles, which measure 16.5”
I also made an button loop to keep it closed.
I think this pattern would be worth making again. Maybe I could use all the requested supplies and make it to the right size.
