Notes

2-8-16: L&T yarn washed beautifully, held it’s shape, I didn’t block, no color migration, very nice feel after washing with fabric softener in rinse. Machine washed & dried.

Super easy pattern.
Inspiration found here:

I planned to edge/join with a variegated yarn, didn’t like any of the Loops & Threads variegated colors, tried RHSS Monet, looked awful, frogged that, replacing with L&T white.
I’m trying out Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn to find out how it washes and if it pills with use.

I readily found the magazine on eBay .

Pattern alteration:
R1: start with a solid first row, ch 25, dc in 4th chain from hook, skipped chains count as a dc, dc in each chain to the end, 23 dcs, ch 3, turn
R2: (still R1 in pattern) skip first dc, dc in next 5 dcs, ch 2, skip 5 dc, then do the first shell and continue per pattern.

Pattern alteration: for edging around strips, two rows only, hdc per the pattern, then a row of dc.

All Shawl border. I’m going by the pattern chart. I’ve been so intimidated by this pattern, especially going around the corners because that’s not in the pattern. After much time & torture here’s my corner version: NOTE: instructions start in the corner of each round, you will end each round doing the same thing going into the corners as you did leaving the corners.

R1: start pattern in a corner with a cluster per the pattern chart (2dc, ch2, 2dc).
R2: make a cluster in a corner (2dc, ch2, 2dc); ch1, sc in ch3 of r1; ch1 & follow pattern around, repeat in ea corner.
R3: make a cluster in a corner (2dc, ch2, 2dc); ch1, (dc, ch1, dc) in sc of r2, ch1 & follow pattern around, repeat in ea corner.
R4: make a cluster in corner. (2dc, ch2, 2dc); ch2, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch1 space of r3, ch1 & follow pattern around, repeat in ea corner.
R5: make a cluster in a corner (2dc, ch2, 2dc); ch2, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 of r4, ch2 & follow pattern around, repeat in ea corner.
And so on… for R6.

Since finishing my blanket I found this on Yarnya’s blog, how she did the corners for the All Shawl border/edging:
