I still really love this pattern. So quick & fun. I know that my begin and end dates make it look like this took me months, but it really didn’t. I had a bunch of other things going on, so had to set it aside for a while.
There are some errors in the pattern. Nothing major, but these are the ones that I think are worth noting:
Row 2 of the Strip: (which is the row that is repeated for the whole thing): It should read (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), rather than (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), as stated in the pattern.
Inner Border Round 1: It doesn’t look like I mentioned this in my project notes for the other times I made this, but I had noted on my pattern something about skipping the last and first ch-sp at the bottom, which would have been sc. I did not do this adjustment this time, as I’m not really sure why I did it before. In fact, on closer look, it seems like I’ve been reading it wrong all along. I looks like you’re supposed to small shell in the last space instead of sc. When I realized that, I tried it that way, but it seemed too crowded and a bit ruffled. Good thing too, because I had already completed several strips, so I continued on the way I’d been doing it, with sc in the last space before & first space after the bottom.
Outer Border Round 2: Right before the asterisk to repeat once more, it’s needed to first complete the corner, with 2dc, ch-2, 2dc in the ch-2 sp. End the next repeat before this though, as the round was started with the corner.
Outer Border Round 3: Right after the asterisk, and also right after the rep of 7 times, before the “dc in the next dc”, it should read skip next dc. Then after the repeat of 28 times, just before the bracketed instruction to skip the net dc, I needed to skip the next dc, so in effect I was skipping 2 dc at this point, right at the transition from the side edge. I needed these extra skips to get the pattern to work out evenly and to have the dips of the chevrons be properly stacked.
My yarn usage includes about 5.5 gr of waste from when I had to rip out and discard the last round of the inner border on one of the strips. When I was assembling the strips, I discovered that I had made a mistake on one of them. I had skipped a shell, so it didn’t it properly with the neighboring strips. The thing is, I had already woven the ends in, but GOOD, so the yarn got rather beat up when I ripped it back. I ended up discarding it.
