I very much enjoyed making this blanket. The pattern is easily memorized, and the yarn does all the work, so it was very soothing to work on. I love that type of project, and it’s kinda just what the doctor ordered right now.

I didn’t quite realize how small it was going to be, though. I probably should have made it 9 by 9 squares instead of 8 by 8, but I guess that 32” x 32” isn’t really all that small. It’s a pretty good size for a stroller blanket. And it’s very soft and pretty, with good texture. I’m really happy with it.

I wish that I had used my full skein first instead of my partial though, because I probably would have had enough to make the entire base in one strand, without joining. That would have eased the pooling, I think. I had to join twice – once because my partial skein had a knot in it, and then again when it ran out. So that interrupted the color sequence twice, and it seemed that the colors kept stacking instead of being interspersed. I suppose I could have tried to join in the same spot in the sequence each time, but I didn’t want all that waste, and it seemed not to matter that much, as the colors are still pretty random looking anyway.

The only mod I made was for the border. I did the slip stitch round as instructed, but then I did 4 rows of sc back loops only (instead of 3), and I turned after each row instead of continuing in rounds.
