I still love this pattern, just as much as the first time I made it. It’s so pleasant and meditative to work on. Just pick it up and kick back – kind of my favorite type of project.

Last time I made it, I thought it was kind of small. That one was 8 x 8 squares, per the pattern, and came out to 32” square. So this time I did 9 x 9 squares, and it came out to 34” x 35” – a little better, but next time I might even do 10 x 10.

Not sure if I did this or not last time, but at the intersections between squares, I worked the corner stitches through both loops instead of back loop only, because I was getting holes when working through just one loop in those spots.

The only other mod I made was, as last time, for the border. As I did before, I did the slip stitch round as instructed, but then I did 4 rows of sc back loops only (instead of 3), and I turned after each row instead of continuing in rounds. The only thing about this was that, with this type of color changing yarn, it made the color change very abrupt where the rows began and ended – a little bit unfortunate, but not a deal-breaker. I still like this border better than the one in the pattern.
