Notes

This was a special request from my grandson, so I was more than happy to oblige! He gave me a vague idea of what he had in mind, so I was showing him pictures on Ravelry, and he really liked this project by maryglam, so I shamelessly copied her!

The only difference being that I did 4 rows of Teal to 2 rows of white, instead of 6 to 3 as she did. I wanted to carry my colors up the side instead of cutting them, so I needed to do even numbers of rows of each color, but I kept the same 2:1 proportion.

Carrying Up the Sides:
On Increase Edges:
Carry old color through last dc, then through the first 4 chains of the chain 6.
On Decrease Edges:
Carry old color through the 4 slip stitches, then through the chain 3. When switching colors, switch on the 3rd slip stitch.

Width (increase both sides): 62 Rows
Length (decrease one side, increase the other): Rows 63 – 82
Top & Last Corner (decrease both sides): Beginning with Row 83

Total Rows: 142

Approximately 65” x 83” finished (before wash), depending on how much I stretch it. It’s VERY heavy!

Edging:
With Teal, sc around, with 3 in each block & 3 in each corner.
I was planning to do more, but this seemed to be enough. It probably would have looked better had I not carried the yarn up the sides, as it’s hard to completely cover that up, but I think it looks good enough, and it saved a LOT of time not to have to cut the yarn at each color change. Maybe more of a border would have disguised it more, but I sort of liked the effect of the very thin edge, so I left it at that.
