Notes

I really like this pattern, but the yarn - not so much. I’m just very disappointed in the color. I loved the way it looked in the skein, but I don’t like the way it looks in the finished product, so I don’t know how much I’ll end up wearing this item.

The yarn was also kind of a nightmare to work with. It kinked up on itself something fierce! I had to stop every 10 stitches or so to untwist it. Very annoying. And you have to be very careful not to untwist it all the way, because then it will break. So, although I really like the way it works up - very soft and light, I doubt that I will ever use this yarn again.

All that said, it’s really a pretty awesome pattern, as most of Doris Chan’s patterns are. Very quick and simple, with clever construction. She’s really quite the genius. I should make this again someday in a different yarn. I think that would make all the difference.

I did two extra rows at the end (repeated the last 2 rows 9 times instead of 8), because I had plenty of yarn left, and I like the look of long vests. But even with that, I ended up using way less yarn than the pattern called for. I bought 4 skeins for the project, but only used 3.
