• 2019/02/25 cannot get gauge. what else is new? haven’t been able to on last 3 projects.

• pattern gauge size 7 22sts x 30rows, after blocking

• size 7 needles 15sts x 21 rows

• size 4 needles 16.5 sts x 24 rows

• trying to figure out how to calculate pattern to my fabric for newborn size

• opted to knit the project on 7s. really should have knit it on 4s. i never got pattern gauge with this organic cotton.

• my 0-3 month size turned out the 18-24 month size. i don’t care in the long run on this item but it definitely shows how doing the math on your gauge swatch is important; you can figure out what size you’ll end up with if there’s a schematic.

• made bobble buttons instead of trying to find the perfect ones.

make a slip knot leaving a long tail.
r1: k1, yo, k1.
r2: k1 x3.
r3: p1 x3
r4: k1 x3
r5: p3tog.
cut a long tail and pull through the loop.
puff the tiny bobble a bit and tie a square knot.
attach to your item.

opinion on the pattern:

it’s an easy sweater to knit. i wish the neck and button bands had one more row of seed stitch to really establish the pattern. it is still one of my favorite baby sweaters out there and i can’t wait to knit it in a yarn that will give me gauge.
