Notes

Having a hard time picking colors for my shawl. Any opinions are appreciated. TIA.

Decided on Top Picture for my yarns.

Main Color: Miss Babs Devotion (dark burgundy)
Contrast Color: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Copper Pink
Accent Color: Suburban Stitcher Sock Yarn in Maple

I wanted to knit Maple as my main color since it was darker, BUT I was worried about the variegation in the yarn as noticed when I started making the i-cord; so, I changed to dark burgundy as my main color.

I hope to make a second shawl in blue-greens, greens. You can see that here: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/KnitbyMoonbeams/twists--... (Frogged this as I have been sick the whole MKAL and have had trouble just knitting this one. And I am making a second Slipstravaganza in those colors and my last year MKAL was in those colors.)

Clue 1 uses Main color and Contrast Colors only.
Main color weight: 40g left, used 60g.
Contrast Color: 53g, used 50g.

I discuss this project (Clue 1) on my YouTube Channel (Knitting TurnPike) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUwspLpt1JU&t=509s

Clue 2 yarn totals:
Main color: 81g, used 19g + 40g left from Clue 1, used 59g total
Contrast Color : 106 g, used 53g on this clue.
Pop Color: 87g, used 13g total on this clue.

Clue 3, uses only AC (pop) color:
I doubled up the thread to make my i-cords as it was too thin with just a single strand. This yarn is on the thin side.
Weight of yarn at end of clue
Skein 1 : 42g, used 45g for this clue.
Skein 2: 97g, used additional 11g for making i-cords.

Clue 4:
After Right Wingspan:
Main Color, weight 65g, used 16g.
Contrast Color, weight 91g, used 15g.

On this side, I did two rows less than required as I lost count and I think I bound off two stitches a couple of times when I should have bound off one. It is all good and leaving as is. And one of the main color stripes is only two rows instead of four. Makes sense that this side is slightly shorter than the other when blocking. This is actually shown on the left in my pictures of blocked shawl since you knit it from the other direction than how I photographed.

After Left Wingspan:
Main Color, weight 47g, used 18g.
Contrast Color, weight 74g. Used 17g.

After center section, bind off:
Accent Color: weight: 35g. Used 7g for this clue.
Main Color, weight: 44g left. Used 3g for this part of clue.

I did the short bind-off with accent color and main color. Thinking about putting an i-cord around the wavy river and cable sections since they are curling some. I tried this for the right side, knitted most of it and decided it didn’t add much to the overall look and also made me feel like I should i-cord the entire shawl which I don’t want to do. You can see this in one of the pictures. So I undid this and decided to block it aggressively in hopes the river edge will not curl.
