This bracelet uses #6 seed beads, 0000 needles and thread. I’ve used both metallic thread (embroidery thread, Above the Surface Quilting thread) or tatting thread. Something that is going to be able to take a daily beating will work fine.
The original pattern called for #8 seed beads. This makes a thinner, more delicate bracelet. I like how the inside and outside show how the colored thread becomes part of the piece with the light colored beads. With two colors of beads, you get a reversible bracelet. Double the fun!
My other mods are that I never use doubled thread in beading or knitting, and I reinforce after the knitting is done.
The two group photos show the opposite sides of the bracelets.
The earrings are another pattern from the same out of print book. They used 4mm bicone crystals. Swarovski crystals make the earring very sparkly.
