Started with CO 128 stitches but the stripes weren’t really looking right so I re cast on with 120 and size 2.50mm needles. So far so good I guess. It is very stretchy and it is for a 6 year old should be fine.

Finished this a lot later than I expected and now Biscuit is 7½. It still fits him and he instantly recognized it as Totoro colours. I decreased down to 4 stitches following the decrease pattern on the original pattern. Then I made a 4 stitch icord and made a little button top. Only issue is I worry that the sparkle in the yarn might be scratchy, it felt that why while I was knitting it. Hopefully he won’t mind.
