Notes

Using this colorway to simulate the stone color of the Great Wall, with the slight gold metallic thread to represent the sunshine glistening off the wall.

I am doing these magic loop 2 aat & making the cables without a cable needle.

Clue #1
I used Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy cast on & started out with a 2.50mm needle for the cuff, then went down to a 2.25mm after I realized that even with the cables, it is a bit loose for my taste. I am neither a tight nor loose knitter & usually get the patterns gauge unless I make changes. Since she also has thin ankles, I’ll probably go down 1more needle size, but will check it as I go.

She wanted these socks to be a bit shorter in the leg, so I stopped at row 32 of the instep pattern & row 8 of the 2nd repeat of the heel stitch pattern, which has the same end point as if I did the full leg pattern.

Started out with another yarn which I thought would work, but found it had too much contrast in places not allowing the pattern to show, so frogged the 20 + rows I had.
