For my Wattle Bud cardi, I’m using Lion Brand Jeans yarn which is a worsted weight yarn instead of a DK weight yarn that the pattern calls for. However, I was still able to achieve gauge with a 4mm hook.
-I made a size S and I have a 34-35” bust, the final fit is a fitted cardigan, if id made a M the cardi would sit with about 3inches of positive ease.
-I used 6x 20mm Coconut Buttons from Lincraft.
-As a personel preferance, I removed all single and 1.5 bobbles from my panels and sleeves, I didn’t like the way they looked sitting by themselves.
Front Panels
I made my two panels to be mirrored to each other, rather than two the same.
-For the left panel, I swapped the first sc number with the end sc number on all bobble rows until the shape armhole section.
-Example, on row 3, it says sc 10, bobble, (sc13, bob), repeat ( ) 0/0/1/1/1 times, sc 9/13/3/7/11.
-This is what I did instead:
sc 9/13/3/7/11, bobble, (sc13, bob), repeat ( ) 0/0/1/1/1 times, sc10.
-For the right panel I followed the instructions exactly how the left was written, except for the neckline and arm hole parts.
shape Armhole
To continue mirroring the panels, I had to change row 1 of the armhole section for both panels, to keep mirroring them:
-LEFT PANEL Row 1: sc 9, bobble stitch, sc 1, bobble, sc 11, bobble, sc 1, bobble, sc 2 6 10 11 11 xs/s/med, ch 1, turn. Large- bobble, sc 2, ch1, turn. XL-bobble, sc 1, bobble, sc 4, ch 1, turn. (28 32 36 40 44)
You will have left 6 stitches unworked at the end of row 1.
-RIGHT PANEL Row 1: ss the first 7sts, ch1, sc in same st, sc 8, bobble stitch, sc 1, bobble, sc 11, bobble, sc 1, bobble, sc 2 6 10 11 11 xs/s/med, ch 1, turn. Large- bobble, sc 2, ch1, turn. XL-bobble, sc 1, bobble, sc 4, ch 1, turn. (28 32 36 40 44)
You will have skipped 6 stitches at the beginning of row 1.
Neckline
To continue mirroring panels, again only the first row is changed for both panels, also found some count errors which are listed below.
-Row 1 neckline (or row 18, 22, 26, 30, 32) ‘row 22’ should say row 25, and ‘row 32’ should say row 31.
-Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows 7, 8, 9, 9, 10 times (14, 15, 18, 20, 23) Stitch count ‘15’ should be 17, and ‘23’ should be 25.
-LEFT PANEL Row 1 of neckline(or row 18 22 26 30 32): sc across until 6 8 8 10 10 stitches remain, ch , turn (22 24 28 30 34)
You will have left 6 8 8 10 10 stitches unworked at the end of row 1.
-RIGHT PANEL Row 1 of neckline(or row 18 22 26 30 32): slst across 7 9 9 11 11 stitches, ch 1,
sc/pattern in same stitch, sc across, ch , turn (22 24 28 30 34)
You will have skipped 6 8 8 10 10 stitches at the beginning of row 1.
