colors are Calligraphy, Candlewick and Fragrant
Thinking of incorporating the edge tutorial found here:
http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2012/8/12/whits-knits...
It would give it a really nice finished edge.
It was quite a feat finding all the colours. Not everyone stocks these, and apparently they are not among the more popular choices…hmmmm.
But I was able to order Calligraphy and Fragrant, and am waiting for Candlewick to be in stock so I can order that as well.
I have decided to not use the border, it does not really go with the pattern, and I will not have enough yarn. I am sure I can use it on another project.
So, started with Calligraphy, and knit until I finished the first skein.
Started on my first skein of Fragrant. Am now debating if I should keep knitting until the skein is done and continue like this or to make the stripes in Fragrant and Candlewick alternate….decisions, decisions…
So I went ahead with the thick stripes that are made of one skein each. I did not want to have to wait another 4 days for the yarn to arrive. Making good progress, halfway through the second stripe of Fragrant.
I have to say I absolutely adore this wool.
Done! and just 24 hours before my daughter left the hospital.
Recap:
Cast on 140 stitches on 5mm needles. I knitted 70rows in each colour, and the finished size is 27in X 44in (69cm X 56cm)
I absolutely adore the finished product. Soon I will be able to add photos of my little one cozily wrapped up in it.
